About the event
In taiko, uchikomi (打ち込み) is a fundamental, repetitive training method used to develop proper form, power, precision, and a strong, resonant sound. The term comes from the verb utsu, meaning “to strike” or “to beat,” reflecting the practice’s focus on disciplined, continuous playing.
In this workshop, participants will learn a variety of uchikomi-style drills and patterns designed to strengthen core taiko skills and technique. The session will also include a full Uchikomi sequence, a continuous, non-stop drill lasting over 30 minutes - offering a challenging training experience.
