ACCOMMODATION
There is limited accommodation inside Aberfoyle, but plenty of other accommodation options available in the surrounding area, although some do require you to have a car. We would recommend booking early, if possible. The list below is not an exhaustive list of the accommodation on offer and we are not affiliated with any of the providers shown. The list is only provided to assist Festival-goers find accommodation. If you are booking accommodation outside Aberfoyle and do not have a car, consider hiring a bike from the Aberfoyle Bike Shop for your stay. Once again, we recommend you book in advance!
Please note that the Taiko Gasshuku Alba 'residential' option already includes accommodation from 8-15 April (which includes the dates of the Scottish Taiko Festival). Anyone wanting to book the dorms at Dounans for the dates of the Scottish Taiko Festival only should contact us on info@scottishtaikofestival.com. The rate for this is £46 per night (shared single-sex dorms).
In Aberfoyle
Sage's Cabin - A shepherd's hut a couple of hundred metres from Dounans and 5 mins walk to the centre of the Village. £75 per night, book directly on www.roxmadeira.com/sages-cabin.
Forth Inn - A pub/inn in the centre of the village featuring delicious food and comfortable rooms.
Aberfoyle Inn - A pub/inn in the centre of the village featuring slightly more affordable rooms.
Heart Campers - Two beatifully converted Nissan Elgrand campervans for hire.
Mayfield Guest House - A comfortable bed and breakfast in the heart of Aberfoyle.
Craigmuick Cottage - A holiday house in the edge of Aberfoyle, by Loch Ard.
Creag Mhor Self - A self-catering apartment in the centre of Aberfoyle.
The Bield B&B - Perfect private hire holiday accommodation for large groups. Sleeps 14 people.
Rob Roy Hotel - Situated just outside Aberfoyle, within an easy 10-minute walk from the village centre along a paved cycle path.
MacDonald Forest Hills Resort - Situated on the shore of Loch Ard in a place of incredible beauty, the Macdonald Forest Hills Resort provides exceptional accommodation! About 10 mins drive from Aberfoyle, on the way to Kinlochard, so you will need to have a car or arrange transport.
Duchray Castle - If you want to go all in and money’s no object… then this has to be the place. A 16th century castle with historic links to Rob Roy in the heart of the Trossachs National Park! 12 mins drive from Aberfoyle.

Cobleland Campsite - Recommended - Nearest campsite to Aberfoyle, situated between Aberfoyle and Gartmore. It’s a 35 mins walk (5 mins drive) to Aberfoyle village centre along a paved bicycle path and about 30 minutes uphill to Gartmore.
Cashel Campsite, Loch Lomond - Nice campsite on the shores of Loch Lomond. 30 mins drive to Aberfoyle, not within walking or easy cycling distance. You can watch a video with a description of the campsite here.
Loch Chon Campsite - Beautiful campsite on Loch Chon, 16 mins drive from Aberfoyle - not walking distance but possible to cycle if you're keen.
