Talk - The Way of the Drum (Free)

What is it about taiko that attracts people?  In what way is taiko “more than just drumming”? Why has taiko spread across the UK – and why hasn’t it spread faster?

These are some of the questions addressed by Jonathan Kirby in this short talk, which will include time for questions.

Jonathan brings widespread experience to the table:  He produced and directed thirteen UK Taiko Festivals between 2005-2019, and four European Taiko Conferences, 2016-2019.  His group, Kagemusha Taiko, have performed in USA, Japan, and Europe, and he is the author of several taiko teaching books and training videos - most recently “Taiko for Schools”.
