EVENT PROGRAMME
 

Below you will find the current list of workshops and activities you will be able to participate in over the course of the weekend. Please be aware that some experience is recommended for certain workshops. You will need to purchase a Festival Pass in order to book a place on workshops scheduled on Saturday and Sunday. You do not need a festival pass for Friday. The pass also grants you access to any of the free events. Booking in advance is essential as spaces in both free and paid workshops are limited.

    Taiko compositions have a fantastic capacity to play host to other musical styles and flavours. “Stepping Stones” wears its influences of Hip-Hop and Rock on its sleeve. The piece was conceived with two objectives: to put a tap in the foot and a smile on the face.

    We will then take you through the Tsuchigumo approach to Taiko basics (kihon), such as dynamic grip; striking technique (waza); stance, posture, and basic movements (kata); and the use of verbal notation (kuchi shōga).
