Traditional Hokuriku Taiko Style Workshop (£30)

Taiko is well known for its varied playing styles from the many different areas and regions of Japan. In this 2 hour workshop Shane will explore patterns, dynamic style and explosive energy associated with this acclaimed taiko drumming style.

As well as intriguing rhythms the class will look at both improvisation and structured composition. Fukui style is known for its quickness (of hand and body). Shane will focus on movement, space, and colour (light and shade).

During his time with Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers Shane considers himself extremely fortunate to have had such precious (one-to-one) teaching time with Masaki Kurumaya, the group's mentor and founder member of Hibiki Daiko.
