Iai demonstration (Free)

Join us for a demonstration of the Japanese martial art of Iai, stemming from the age of the Samurai into the modern era, practitioners forge their body and minds through rigorous practice to become highly skilled in the use of the Japanese Sword.

The demonstration will be led by the Tokyo Adachi Roshukai Group, which studies Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Yamanouchi-ha Japanese swordsmanship. The group currently has Dojos across the UK in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Sussex. Iai is the way of the Japanese Sword focusing on the use of the sword to build the body and mind in the present day but remaing true and respectful to its origins as a martial art created by the Samurai in ancient Japan.
