Get to the Chappa! (£10-£15)

Chappa are hand cymbals used mainly as auxiliary instruments in a Taiko ensemble, which add a bright percussive layer to the music whilst creating a colourful, playful accompaniment to the low roar of the drums. 

In this workshop, Martin will take you through the fundamentals of chappa playing, from the basic stroke types, to the myriad special sound effects that these incredibly versatile instruments can create.

In the final portion of the workshop, you will learn elements from an original Tsuchigumo composition called, 'Get to the Chappa!', which can be orchestrated as a solo or for up to three players.
