Basics of Yodan Uchi (£80)

Yodan Uchi means to hit 4 sides. It is the signature piece of the Sukeroku style originating in Tokyo. This workshop will explain the history of the Sukeroku style and how Yodan Uchi was created. Basic stance, ji, rhythms, movement, and soloing will be covered.  Although permission to perform this piece from the four original composers is required, learning and practising these basics is helpful to learning about this Tokyo style.
